Re: ATM Is fused quartz green?

>Here's a simpler question. The piece I have is slightly green on the edge.

That means it may be a water white plate, or maybe a form of pyrex, which
for all the stuff I have seen has been more yellow.

internal variations

Which means it was probably poured into a mold from a melt.

>Is fused quartz greenish like pyrex (or plate), crystal clear like crown,

Fused quartz is absolutely the clearest glass, almost like looking through
solid air. While at Stellafane two years ago I came across a large
collection of blanks and lenses spread across a blanket. ULE stood out
because of it's golden and slightly tranlucent colour. Quartz stood out
because of it's brilliance and clarety. Pyrex and flint similarly stood out.
