When I built my CCD cookbook camera, I recall we used another chip for the
A/D converter that was cheaper and easier to get than the Analog Devices
part.  It was made by Sipex.  Look on the Cookbook Web page under the 
heading: Text Information Database / Using the Sipex SI1674J A/D Converter.
