A few months back I requested a quote on BK7 from United Lens.

Dia  12"
Thk   1.25"
Grade  2nd  (plenty good enough for a refractor)

Price $400.00


So for a 12" refractor with  KzFSN2 / FK51

$10,960 for the glass

Roughly speaking, the price of glass goes by weight, less generating of course.

So the glass for an/a

   8" ~ $4000
   6" ~ $1800
   4" ~ $ 700

Now I'm assuming fairly thin glass here, for faster scope the cost would go up.
