Actually, I advocate and practice just the opposite, that is, to begin polishing
whilest the mirror and tool are still warm.  They quickly generate their own
heat, coming into thermal equlibrium (may or may not be at room temperature).
By following this regime, I have been able to supress dob biscuit quite
effectively.
