Re: ATM mc3479 stepper controller help

Given that you already have the 3479 controller IC, this may not be of
much help, but I've built two controllers recently with the L297 Stepper
Controller IC recently, and been very happy. The Data Sheets and
Application Notes are readily available at http://www.st.com and the
chip is available from Mouser Electronics. I built my controllers for
Unipolar motors, so I didn't use the L298 chip, which is designed to be
paired with the L297. The L298 is intended to greatly simplify Bi-polar
motor controllers, so you might want to take a look at it. The data
sheets include simple schematics.
