ATM New photos on web page

Hi everyone,

At long last, I have some photos of my newly rebuilt 15-inch f/5.5 added to
my web
page. I'm not satisfied with the contrast of some of them, and I will redo
them as soon as possible, but at least I have something up on the site for
now. It's hard when you don't have your own scanner.

I don't really have any ground-breaking new ideas to present to you, except
for the bracket I use to mount my finders. But you can see what can be
done if you build it yourself at home, by careful attention to details, at
very low cost. My goal was to have an instrument that is not only the very
best possible, optically speaking, but beautiful in appearance as well. I
wanted something easy to transport and set up, occupying very little space
when broken down, and beautiful enough to park in a corner of my living
room as a piece of fine furniture. What can I say? I'm definitely in
love! You can see how it looks, and optically speaking, this is the
instrument we have used at up to 2100x when the seeing will allow.

Future goals are to motorize it via Mel Bartel's drive system, or an
equatorial platform. I'm currently debating the pros and cons of each
system.

Scroll down the page until you see the link to the "new 15-inch". Any
comments will be gratefully received.

Clear skies,
