What you want might well be classed as Float Glass now, a
process which has largely, if not entirely, superceeded the old
polished plate glass process. 

Float glass is available in many different chem. compositions and
thicknesses (anything from 1mm to over 25mm in thickness).

For up to date information on specific products, check out the
Precision Glass & Optics website at

Also try Newport Glass Works Ltd.

Either of these sites ought to be able to give you enough info so
you can go to a local glass distributor and ask for a specific product.
