Thanks Tim and thanks to all of you who have shared their experience
with me.

I made up my mind now for a roll of, wood observatory with a 3.5 x
3.5m observatory area and a 2.2 x 3.5m work area. The roof will roll
of on the flat work area roof and the overlapping part will be
supported by two extra posts.

However I'll keep you informed and will put the results eventually on
my homepage.

!!PS: For professional reasons (I'll be on a concert tour for some
