Go for the polished edge glass! I made the mistake of ordering
some 1/2" round plate glass without the edge polished. What you
get is a glass disk with edges chipped in by as much a 1/4".
The glass dealer said that is the best they can cut it. If you order a
polished edge they cut the glass over size ,grind and polish it
to size. They have never heard of trepaning. This was a window and
table top glass dealer.
