ATM Plaster Tools...

Hello everybody...

I'm needing a bit of info on this plaster tool idea...I know what
plaster I'll be using, and to shellac it, et cetera; but I need to
know a couple of other things here yet.  

1)  Can I use this plaster tool without tiles, etc, just until I get
a curve generated in the blank and the tool, or do I cast the
tool to the desired curvature, put the tiles on it, and just go at
it with the blank?

2) If I cast the tool to the proper curvature; how? Do I just
cast a disk, and then shape it and then shellac it and epoxy
the tiles onto it? 

3)  Just to make sure I know what I am thinking about, the
radius of curvature is twice the focal length, right?
