I'd be curious about this ... I had a Meade LX200 at one point, and had a problem with attachments for the rear cell. It turns out that (according to Meade) the thread specifications actually allow a considerable variance. The 48mm thread is, I believe, a camera specification, and may have a similar fudge factor -c
