ATM 500 grit done, what next ??

Hi all...

I started grinding my mirror again after a little break.
I Tex's and Berry's books a long time ago, but haven't got them yet
because someone screwed up and the book store or at W-B. But I hope to
recieve them in two weeks from now at most.

So I have finished 500 grit and am now wondering how I should use the
aluminum oxide (5 and 12 micron, the W-B 8" kit).

Should I use it with the pitch lap or directly on the tile tool?. If so
how should I do that, seems to me that there isn't enough to fill all the
channels on my tool as I did with the silicon carbide.

p.s. I was thinking (this is probably not possible :)) if we would put
the diagonal further up the tube where the light cone is very small (near
the focal point) and then gather the light again, and then we would haver
a very small diagonal and very little opstruction !!!!
