Re[2]: ATM 1" thick glass at $450 for 13" plate!?
I think the trick is to buy as large a piece as you can afford, and
have them do the easiest and least amount of cuts...
Then throw it on your drill press and cut it yourself with carbo...
If there were someone else here locally into ATM I could split a piece
with them...

This fits with what Micheal Pendley warned me of his experience...They
almost give it away if square, but if you want it round then he finds it is
cheaper to buy pyrex blanks from W-B....
This expalains why I am delving into fly-cutting it myself.
Micheal told me that glass shops do the rounds pretty much by hand, grinding
to a line on what sounded sort of like a wet disk sander by his
discription...very labor intensive...sounds like they need to subscribe to
this list!
I am able to find only 3/4" locally as well, so they may be concealing some
special order charges in the labor quote.
Mike told me a while back that he has fallen behind in reading the list
postings, else I'd let him tell you first hand...Sorry if I misquoted you
Micheal.
