ATM 1" Thick glass is cheaper in squares

I called the glass supply back again (not sure of the name, but I'll
get it if you like) and asked them the price for a 1ft square piece of
plate glass...it's funny they say "Oh, that's $34 per foot" and I say
"Ok, I want one square foot" and they say "Ok, $75"

Anyway, in effect I am paying for them to cut the glass, and since
they have a risk of breaking the whole sheet, they charge more. It's
amazing what a $34 piece of glass goes for now a days..

     (Exactly $75)

But anyway, I'm still not willing to pay close to $100 to cut a piece
     of plate glass....I think it's time to buy/build a kiln...at least
then I can do pottery also...

Could someone offer some advice on building a kiln? Is it difficult
to build some type of temperature control circuit (controlled via
     computer?)
