Subject: First Mirror

It was precisely one year ago I ordered my mirror making kit. Tonight I was
crunching numbers from the knife edge tester, the final numbers as it turns
out.
Between these two events was an education. I`ve taken lots of time and played
with the process to see what in blazes would happen if I did this or that. I
found out. Perhaps the greatest insight was not a physical process, but a
change in attitude. I started this endeavor wondering if I were a good enough
technician to complete the mirror. I found out that I am a good enough artist
to make a mirror. Most illuminating ( no pun intended, but I`ll take it ).

the TEX program seems to think my mirror is about 1/27th wave, the ronchi
lines look smooth, under the knife it looks very smooth and the edge has a
nice defraction line all around. Time to ship it off for coating, clean up,
and start hogging out my 10 inch.

I want to thank all of you for help and encouragement. I`ve received a
tremendous amount of help from the list and also Peter and Randy of the
Seattle AS.

Is this the most fun you can have with your clothes on or what ?
Clear skies
Rodg
