It is not madness to start with a 10". In my mirror making classes, 10"
is a popular size to start with. It is just an overgrown 6".
Everything will take a little longer, though, and you will want to make
sure to keep the edge beveled and to rotate the bottom piece religiously
every 5-15 minutes to fastideously avoid a hint of astigmatism.
Willman-Bell and others have complete 10" kits, though you can save $ by
scrounging for yourself.
