I've used black flock paper in my C8, all the way up and down the tube.
The central baffle that holds the diagonal and the diagonal are the most
critical sections. On these there was an enormous improvement over the
original black plastic/paint. But there is still some reflection looking
up it in the day. I suspect at night, that this is negligable. The
improvement at the eyepiece is phenomenal ... crystal clear.
Also, adhesive backed flocked paper is much easier to handle than velvet
and glue
