ATM "Wrinkle" paint question
As a new lurker/learner of computers and telescopes I recently made a dew
cap/light shield out of foam for my 6"reflector. While the O.S.P. was a slam
dunk, I can now occasionally see 4 moons of Saturn from my front yard just
North of Seattle! Rumaging through the garage today I applied 3 coats of
black "Zynolyte" brand "wrinkle finish" spray paint to the blue colored foam.
It's black & wrinkled allright, but it has a very high gloss finish. From
previous threads regarding the best paints I now have "Krylon" ultra flat
black in the tube. Does anyone know of an UltraFlat black wrinkle finish on
the market, or should I get out the wood saw and get some sawdust and
excersize?
I reckon the next/best option could be an overcoat of the Krylon ultra flat
black. I like the idea of the wrinkle finish as it might help avoid the
possibility of knocking off chunks of sawdust during handling and sliding on
the cap. As the angle of the paint ridges does not appear to be as acute as
sawdust maybe it doesn't have as much attenuation? Go to sawdust??
BTW am grinding 1st mirror, an F6- 8" and as H.A.L. in"2001" said "I'm
putting myself to the fullest possible use that any conscious entity can ever
hope to achieve." Of course he went crazy ;-)
Thanks much for any tips!!
