Still, a lot of people are attracted by the charm of exploring the
universe real time with their own eyes.

We've obviously all seen wonderful CCD images of the objects we observe,
yet we continue to be attracted by the less than perfect views obtained
with our telescopes. No picture of the Orion Nebula conveys the splendor
and primeval fierceness of the image that is seen in the eyepiece. No
CCD image of M33 shows the astonishing and delicate beauty of the spiral
arms as seen in larger telescopes.

And what better time than now to observe visually, with the availability
of big telescopes, nearly perfect eyepieces and filters for every use!
