[ATM] question about reducing dc voltage

Hello Everyone -

I have a dual axis drive system that runs off of 4 D cell batteries. I 
have a 12VDC rechargeable power pack that I would like to use to power 
the drives instead of  buying d cell batteries. Is there a simple way to 
reduce the output of the  power pack so that it matches the 4 D cell 
batteries?
