I've not read the other posts on how long your 30" will be, but rather than
creating a more difficult exotic design, you may want to consider an
ultra-fast simple Newtownian mounted with the EP at the center of axis. This
way you don't need to address some of the issues I've seen.
I've experimented with a pier mount, a fork mount and I'm about to try a
modified "tall" dob mount. I've not posted any photos yet, but it's on my to
do list.

If it's a Newtonian with the side bearings at the eyepiece wouldn't you need
a counter weight on a boom in Front of the eyepiece to balance it? The
longer the boom the less weight you need but the more space. Of course if
it's a permanent mounting weight isn't a big deal unless the bearings are
sensitive to it.
