There are various grades of acculap.

My default I ship 'Standard' which is in between G64 and G73
(That may explain the 'it is harder' comment)

A pro AND con of it is that it will not change hardness as you heat it more.

It *is* what it *is*.

With Gugolz you can adjust the hardness a bit (and that is an art in itself)

1 tin of Acculap is 3/4 LB (not 1 LB)

a 12" mirror has 4X the area of a 6", so maybe 4lbs (or 4 tins?) will do it.

It you use acculap and it seems too hard, then raise the temp of your 
working environment and visa versa.
