In the original post, the densitometer measurements were of "emulsions"
used in photography. Further the levels mentioned indicated extreme
(huge) differences in the reflection. If I understand his message, the
reflection of matte was twice the reflection of the Glossy. .. I am not sure
what the light bandwidth used in the measurement or the accuracy of the item
or how repeatable the measurements are.
Reflections data I have seen on Black Glossy paint is on the order of 8%.
Flat paint being in the same order. (I suspect differences exist on the
brand of paint etc.) At any rate, if black glossy paint has a reflection of
8%, then the densitometer measurement data would imply matte paint to have a
reflection of 16% or so... some light colors (off-white) of paint reflect
less than that....
I am skeptical.

It reflects more based on densitometer readings.
