I'd not bother with the ETX as it really isn't a long enough
focal length scope for any but short FL scopes. Better would be
to do up a reflector (newtonian) scope for a tracker scope and
let the focal length be somewhere arround the FL of the main
scope.
For doing a large movement, a pair of linear motion bearing sets
will be the ticket. Attach one to the frame of the main scope
and the other at right angles to the first bearing. A simple
screw with a half nut will allow for coarse and fine location of
the end of the scope in the X and Y directions easilly.
