Edge support does not mean that the mirror should be supported bij the walls
of the mirrorbox or tube, felt in between or not. From your post I get the
impression that you think it does.
Edge supports should support the mirror without deforming it. I have
experimented with different kinds of edge support and my experience is, that
the piano wire support and rollerbearing support both function very well.
Others have good results using slings. See my webpage at
