A 1mm tube thickness is a bit fine to do threading.  Better would
be to make the lens a snug fit into the tube and warm the tube to
get it onto the lens cell and then use several screws into the
lens cell to hold things together.
Another choice would be to TIG weld a ring onto the end of the
tube to hold the hreads for the lens cell.
