Perhaps, but it sure is the best thing for stir-fry. I love watching
the cooks at the local Chinese carry-out. They have huge woks over
burners that might fire a fair sized glass furnace. They sure can cook fast.
Speaking of fast, what do you suppose the f-ratio of a typical wok is?
