The last time I tried the wok method was a long time ago.  Somehow suction
formed between the glass and the wok, and it was so powerful that I could
not remove the glass.   I turned the wok over and dropped it on the table.
My precious 6" pyrex blank did come out, and it broke on the table top.  

How much bevel do we need?   I think the wok is overkill.  And it is a
Chinese commie import.  Wokists must also believe in the labor theory of
value, historical determinism, democratic centralism, etc.

At the Chabot Telescope Makers' Workshop, we use a wok.  Place a slurry of 
#80 or #120 grit into the wok (not alot.. just enough to cover a couple/few 
of inches of the bottom).  Place the mirror face down in the wok, and use a 
swirling motion with some downward force to grind the bevel to the desired 
depth.  You can use this method all the way through fine grinding.  It can 
be disconcerting to place the mirror face down into course grinding 
compound; but trust me... only the bevel is affected.
