     Chuck, You asked if there was another way to bevel glass other than the 
whetstone?
    Yes there is, many in fact.  I use a "DREMEL" tool with a diamond 
grinding drum.
       The drum is about 1/2" diameter with a standard 1/8" shank. 
(available at Harbor Frieght)
       I have rigged up a 45 degree stand and a water injection for the  
grinding contact.
                It works quite well and leaves a nice edge.    Russ Jocoy
