Thanks for the compliment! This is the farthest I have gone on any
mirror (the first 6" I gave up on.. which I regret so I am making up for
it with this one). As I mentioned in my email to Mike, I think I will
continue on a few more hours just to be safe on the pits and remove that
last bit of TDE. When I scanned the mirror surface this morning using a
laser, I did see some "stars" that would not go away with my finger.
However, I cannot tell if it is on the surface or just underneath in one
of the fused layers. Tonight I will use a bright light and an eyepiece
to see if that does anything. And another thing that came to me today.
If it is underneath the mirror surface, it should be slightly out of
focus (if I am focusing on the surface) when using the eyepiece.
Nothing hazy when using a bright light and tilting my head when I am at
the center of ROC.
I will crop the next images. Thanks for the tip.
