For my own, I use white fine concrete, as found in do it yourself 
stores, ready for use. After pouring, molded on a form, and once cured 
during two days, I dry it in the oven at low temperature. I carefully 
remove all friable parts, and two layers of polyuréthane varnish give 
the ultimate security.
I now have a lot of cncrete discs, ready to be used as grinding tools 
with epoxied tiles, or polishing tools with pitch. I like these tools 
for their wheigt and consistancy.
