[ATM] Cardboard Tubes

As you know, this list is non-commercial, but certain exceptions are made when
the moderators (e.g. me) feel it is warranted. I've been notified of a large
number of 10" inner diameter cardboard sonotubes available for free in
Pennsylvania (but you must pick them up).

I urge *serious* list members to coordinate (on list is OK) so that the kindly
Mr. Beebe doesn't get 700 phone calls asking about tubes. I also ask that
since you are finding out about these tubes due to this list, that the tubes
be used in the spirit of this list. If you buy them for someone else, or
later decide to get rid of them, that you do so at actual shipping costs
only, not as a business or for profit.

====================================================
I am the COO of a textile company that is closing down our business, we
find ourselves in the position of selling off all of our equipment, included
in this are some 13,500 cardboard tubes that we used for storage of fabric.
These tubes are 10" inside diameter, 8 feet in length and either 1/2 " thick
or 1/4" thick , most are 1/2" thick. These are Sunoco tubes and have either a
resin or a glue impregnated in them, I know that painting them could be an
issue but I am not sure.

The tubes are located in Milton, PA. I will get an estimated weight per tube
so that shipping costs can be estimated.

At this point we would like to sell these tubes or just have someone come and
take them from us, we are going to send them to the local garbage dump if no
one comes forward.

Please let me know if you would have any interest in these tubes, I know that
sometimes tubes like this can be used to make telescopes, I don't know if
this is practical or not but the price is right on these tubes.

I doubt that your club could not use all of these tubes but if you could take
a batch of them it might work out for you, I will send this same email to
other groups similar to yours, if you could send me a list of those type of
groups that would be very helpful.

Please respond either way as we are moving on this pretty quickly.
