Hi Ukyo,
Paper tubes are normally ok if you also make it little bit stronger by
gluing, for example, a thin plywood around it. I installed a small
Dall-Kirham Cassegrain optics in that kind of tube (paper tube wall
thickness 4 mm, plywood 2 mm) and it works quite ok. If your wall
thickness is only 1 mm, it sounds pretty thin to me.
My LHN telescope has now a PVC plastic tube which I'll definetely change
to another type...
