Answered my own question when I dug out Texerau this morning and looked
through the eyepiece chapter.  Tex describes a particular Barlow, but
does not give the design information necessary to make the lenses.
Probably he did not give out the prescription because the Barlow, as
well as the Plossl eyepieces he described, were being manufactured by
the Clave company at that time.  Clave would not have been happy to have
the prescriptions publicly available for any competitor to copy.
