Just to jump in here on this subject of doing just one scope is
that there are often friends or co-workers or neighbors that have
a good woodworking shop in their garage that would be happy to
help you build the woodworking parts.
One of the guys at SDAA now owns a nice 24" telescope without
having to buy one piece of woodworking equipment due to finding
one member of the association that had metal fabrication
equipment for the miror cell and another who has a full
woodworking shop for all the rest of the scope.
