Gluing glass together will be an exercise in frustration all along the way.
Better to fuse the glass together and slump it at the same time.  There are
several people that have been doing fused blanks, our imitible Richard
Schwartz being one of them as well as another person who I don't remember
his name at the moment, to get volume without the weight of the solid glass
mirror.  Probably the best in this regard is the HexTek mirrors of Bob Goff
with which a 30" mirror can be picked up by a single individual without any
problems but the ungainlyness of the size of the object.
I'll also note that the BVC blanks appear to be fused glass.
