Re: [ATM] Dob Design Questions



Mel,

I plan to make them as light as possible, a 180 degree ring segment maybe 
2-3" thick, radially, of 6mm Alucobond, something similar, or thinner 
aluminum.  If they are not stiff enough, and/or if I add encoders,  I am 
thinking of a spoke and hub arrangement, or a modified one, similar to Dan 
Grey's or Howard Banich's 28's.  Enough OSP walkabouts that you put together 
have convinced me I can do this with pretty lightweight components.
