Not being a smart alek, but the original post clearly said there
was no power when the observatory was unoccupied. Yet the
replies were to provide light bulbs or leave the computer running.

Could the original poster expound on WHY no power is available?
If it is a remote observatory, is providing power through dry cell
batteries
and solar cells out of the question?

Granted, Here in Tucson we start wearing long johns at 60 degrees, and
so the computer equipment isn't stressed as much as you yankees get ;-)
but before putting equip in the observatory, I knew that I had to use
a CRT monitor rather than a LCD or plasma, by reading the operating
specs that comes with the equipment.
