[ATM] Heat transfer

Silicone adhesives are optimized for gluing and/or sealing things
NOT for transfering heat. If anything they are detrimental to
rapid heat transfer.

In order to insure high conductivity between CPU's and their
attached heat sink, Intel and others provide a small tube of
grease that is designed specifically to enhance thermal transfer.

It's available at Radio Shack for almost nothing.

Actually I do use GE-II silicone bath tub sealer available from
Home Depot. For better heat conduction of RTV, I add either
copper
or silver filings if electrical conductivity doesn't matter or
powdered Aluminum Oxide or BeO if electrical conductivity does
matter. In fact one can make a thermally conductive flexible
sheet
material this way.
