It is hard to tell much about the figure from that
picture. It looks to me like it has been vignetted by
the camera lens. This is evident by what looks like a
smaller circle inside the mirror and shifted to the
left. None of the edge is really in full view. In
particular the right edge is severly affected by it.
On the left you can still see it is vignetted there as
well. This creates false artificats that confuse the
analysis. There may also be some shadows created by
air currents that give the impression of large dog
biscuit in the lower left.
The micro ripple does show up though. I have been
able to control that here by useing very slow strokes
like 2 seconds to go from one side to the other on a
16 inch mirror with an 8 inch lap.
