Well, from when I used to go camping years ago I recall that dew does
seem to collect more in open areas than in covered areas, at least when
the air is still. Thus, if you have a canopy that covers your observing
area plus a least one side to block the prevailing winds you may be
ahead. Of course you would have to confine your viewing to avoid the
zenith and/or keep moving the overhead canopy as you would rotate a dome.
