With aluminum, the balance of a triangle is relatively unimportant but when
people start overkill on strength and using 1/2" thick steel for the
supports and putting fancy low friction bearings on the pivot points to
"reduce" the friction of the pivot points, things change to where it starts
becoming important to do some balancing of the masses.  Considering some of
the fancy schemes of using heavy parts by some of the writers in this
thread, they will indeed need to do some balancing and so forth to insure
that the mirror is indeed well supported.
I'll note that minor flexure of the triangles is not really a bad thing as
this will tend to migitate any stiction of the bearings without any
problems.
