[ATM] Off Topic - Hooking up multiple computers to one internetconnection

I know this is off topic, but I trust you folks for good advice.

I've been overseas for over two years, and now that I'm back in the US I
have more than one computer in a room, but only one (broadband) internet
connection.  I don't want to get a second connection, I want to share it
between two machines.

What options do I have, and what are they called?  Switches?  (Copper
wire)...or a wireless device?  Any ballpark cost estimate?
