[ATM] First Light of my 16" Ultra LIght Scope
Finished the first iteration of my 16" F5 Ultra light
telescope. It came in at about 50 lbs and so far has
meet all my expectations. Thanks to all of you fellow
ATMers how published web pages for me to get ideas
from. This scope incorporates ideas from many but in
particular: Jim Miller, Nils Olaf Carlin, and Mel
Bartels. Others of you helped with the mirror making
questions. The mirror is not done to my liking it is
just about 1/4 W on the wave front but a chance for a
free coating could not be passed up. Especially since
I wanted to use it a little this summer before the
snow flies in Minnesota. I will resume figuring this
winter.
As with most ATM projects it is not completed. It is
just at its first usable iteration.
I had never looked through a scope this big before.
M13 was a wonderfull explosion of information compared
to my 8.
