[ATM] Berry's 10-inch telescope plans

    I am in the middle of building a 10-inch Dobsonian like the one in 
Berry's book.  Has anyone built one of these (or something similar) 
using 1/2-inch plywood for the mounting instead of the 3/4-inch used in 
the book?  It seems to me that using 3/4-inch plywood for everything is 
going to make for a very heavy telescope.  Any suggestions will be 
appreciated.
