The thing that you have to remember with the triangles for the support of
the mirror is that when you put one in the proper position, it should fall
off of the bearing in any direction.  If they want to fall off in any
particular direction, you need to remove metal from the triangle so that the
proper action of rolling off of the bearing in any direction happens.
Since the mass of the trinagle is above the center of the rotation of the
bearing, the triangle will not stay in a stable point so it will rotate off
of the correct position.  That the triangle has no particular direction of
motion indicates that it isn't going to be putting a stress on the glass
when it supports it in any particular direction.
