  check out a local heating and ventalation company,  try and 
disassemble the vanes from the spider and take one in and get them to 
cut out new set,  They should have a variety of thicknesses to chose 
from.  Afterwards, rough them up with 320 sandpaper and then prime and 
paint (use an aluminum primer) with flat black.  You can also check at a 
home center for some aluminum flashing material if you want to try it 
yourself.
