[ATM] The UPS modified Meade

Hi Guys,
I ordered a Meade 12.5 Starfinder Dobs from an individual on Ebay 2 weeks
back.  He did everything he could to pack the scope well and etc and even
hired a packing service to pack it for him.  Despite all his best intentions
and effort, UPS managed to jostle a package labeled "FRAGILE" all over it.
They jostled it to the point that the mirror busted out of its mounts
anchored in chipboard and bent the bolts, hurling the mirror down the tube
to damage the spider vanes.  The mirror flipped over and then received
scratches from the mount bolts.

So far as I can tell, the scratches are in the coating only and sending the
mirror in to get recoated will do the job.  I have yet to find out if UPS
will cover the cost (the package was insured).  I can refab the chipboard
and etc.  But I am concerned for what I can do to replace the spider vanes.
Meade uses little thin strips of aluminum for the job.  What would you use?
Can you point me to any resources?
