The Ronchi test is the vastly better way of checking for turned edge. You
can very easily tell the difference between TDE and TUE, because the ends of
the Ronchi bands hook in the direction of the curve for TDE, and against the
direction of the curve for TUE. Inside ROC the ends look pinched for TDE,
outside ROC they hook outward. Vice-versa for TUE (although I don't know if
I've ever seen TUE in person).
