You have to remember that the difference here is that United Lens is a
professional company selling a product for money while Dan is just another
amateur like us who came across a glass mine and is doing all of us a favor
by turning that glass mine into silly round disks for all of us.  I'd
suggest that you go back through the archives and see the history here.
"Glass mine" is probably a good item to search on.
